Dinner With Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith at Yaamava' Theater

NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith met with fans at Yaamava' Resort & Casino at San Manuel to give an exclusive look into his career and personal life at a recent Legends Dinner.

Powerful applause echoed throughout Yaamava' Theater as NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith was introduced by Jay Glazer to the crowd. Fans erupted as iconic clips of his career flashed across the screen, setting the scene for an evening of memories and inspiration. 

A Dallas Cowboys Hero

A Dallas Cowboy icon, Emmitt Smith's name resonates throughout NFL history as one of the game's most formidable running backs. He is the all-time NFL leader in rushing yards, with 18,355 yards throughout his career. He also holds the record for rushing touchdowns with 164. His success continued with three Super Bowl rings, Super Bowl MVP, and a league MVP title. That is why on January 22, 2024, Yaamava' Theater opened it's doors to host one of the greatest to play in the NFL.

Yet, behind Smith's triumphs lies a narrative of grit. Watching an athlete rise to greatness can seem like a destined fortune, but behind every legend is a commitment. Reflecting on his journey, he remarked, "He had to be a guy who was comfortable with being uncomfortable." Smith's arrival to the Cowboys was not easy going as the team was facing a record of one win and fifteen losses in 1989, the year prior to Emmitt Smith's arrival. Things didn't look promising when Smith arrived, but he said, "I got drafted by the right team and around the right players.". To become a sports legend, it takes more than stats, it requires leadership. Smith embraced the challenge, ultimately leading them to three Super Bowl victories. 

Life After Football

While enjoying a creamy chocolate cake from the Pines, fans began to hear about Emmitt Smith's life after football. "I would lean on guys like Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan just to have conversations about life, the game, business, and what it is like to move on from the game," said Smith. As a retired NFL running back, Smith has found himself taking new routes as Chairman of E. Smith Advisors. Yet, his greatest pride lies in his role as a devoted husband and father.
