Festivities are planned all week long to celebrate the jersey retirement of Los Angeles Dodgers former pitcher Fernando Valenzuela.

The art of sports is complex yet simple: suit up, make an impact on the field, win a championship. It’s easier said than done; however, Fernando Valenzuela did more than that during his time with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
After more than 30 years since last wearing the iconic Dodger blue on the mound, Valenzuela’s career will be celebrated by Yaamava’ Resort & Casino at San Manuel over the course of August. Fernandomania Week will kick off at Southern California’s No. 1 resort and casino with the best ways to honor the Dodger legend, while also bringing exclusive giveaways to Club Serrano members.
DODGERS TRIVIA NIGHT
It can pay off to be a know-it-all, even more so when you’re a Dodgers fan. Swing by The 909 on Aug. 8 and get your closest family and friends in the lineup for Dodgers Trivia Night. Each question will pertain to a tidbit of Dodgers history and gameday knowledge, bringing the perfect blend for die-hard baseball fans and Los Angeles supporters.
The winning team will score $3,000 in cash while the second and third place teams walk away with Free Play.
BASES LOADED DRAWING
If you ever wanted the opportunity to see Valenzuela up close, the Bases Loaded Drawing at Bar Bar Bar will make your dreams come true on Aug. 10. Drawings will be held every 30 minutes from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. when one lucky Club Serrano member will win a pair of tickets to a Dodgers game, a meet-and-greet with Valenzuela and $340 in Free Play.
DODGER STADIUM GIVEAWAYS
The celebrations for Valenzuela continue at Dodger Stadium with three days’ worth of giveaways and special experiences, presented by Yaamava’. The weekend festivities will start with the jersey number retirement ceremony on the field, followed by a drone show after the game that commemorates No.34.
For the fan desiring a miniature Valenzuela, Saturday’s stadium giveaway is the perfect occasion where the first 40,000 fans through the gates will receive a bobblehead of the pitcher in the iconic Dodgers home uniform.
Sunday wraps up the weekend with a replica of the 1981 World Series ring, where Valenzuela pitched lights out against the New York Yankees in his rookie season.
DINE WITH A LEGEND
Spend time away from the field with No. 34. The Pines Modern Steakhouse will host an intimate dinner with the pitching legend where guests will have the opportunity to ask him questions and enjoy a fine dining experience at this Forbes Four-Star restaurant.
Seats are limited for this ticketed event. Club Serrano members will be greeted with a three-course dinner by the award-winning culinary team at The Pines. Once the evening is underway, Valenzuela will mingle with guests and talk about his career as one of the most impactful players in the Dodgers organization.
Before the night ends, each guest will have the chance to take a photo with El Toro as a keepsake of the night with the legendary left-handed pitcher.
